Estadio Gran Parque Central photos and information

The Estadio Gran Parque Central, popularly known as Parque Central, is the stadium of Club Nacional de Football. It is located in Montevideo, Uruguay, near Nacional headquarters (exactly between the streets Carlos Anaya, Jaime Cibils, General Urquiza and Comandante Braga), in the La Blanqueada neighbourhood. In this stadium, Nacional plays its home games.
This stadium was one of the venues of the 1930 FIFA World Cup, and it is the grounds in which the first match in the history of the FIFA World Cup was played (when in group D the United States defeated Belgium 3-0 on July 13th, 1930). This historical fact was remembered by FIFA on two occasions: 1987 and 2005. At the same time, another match was played at the now defunct Estadio Pocitos.
The stadium has four main stands: Tribuna José María Delgado (North), Tribuna Atilio García (South), Talud Abdón Porte (West), Talud Héctor Scarone (East), named after famous Nacional players (like Atilio García, Abdón Porte and Héctor Scarone) and a chairman of the club (José María Delgado).

Estadio Centenario

Estadio Centenario is a stadium in Montevideo, Uruguay, used primarily for football. The stadium was built between 1929 and 1930 to host the 1930 FIFA World Cup, as well as to commemorate the centennial of Uruguay's first constitution. It is listed by FIFA as one of the football world's classic stadiums, along with the likes of Maracanã, Wembley Stadium, San Siro, and Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. While its current capacity is between 65,000 and 76,000, it once had a capacity of 100,000.
The Uruguayan national team has always been a threat when playing in their home stadium, consistently beating top teams. Even the top ranked Brazil national football team has only managed 2 wins in 20 opportunities, neither in official matches. Because of the Centenario's location next to other smaller stadiums, when Central Español and Miramar Misiones play home matches simultaneously, one can watch all three games from the top of the Amsterdam stand.

Cabo Polonio

Cabo Polonio is a small village located in the eastern coast of Uruguay in the Rocha Department. The place has the uniqueness of having no roads leading to it but is only about 7 km from the main highway. It is accessible by walking that distance through the dunes or by the services of 4x4 vehicles that provide a ride. There is no electricity or running water for the few hundred houses of this town. They make do by collecting rain water or from nearby water wells and using wind power and a few generators to power some of the posadas and groceries stores. There is a light house that gets power from the national grid.
Cabo Polonio sits on the tip of a moon-sliver peninsula that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean. On the back side, powerful waves relentlessly knock. But on the other side, on the inside of the moon, the water comes calmly to shore. At the top end, a lighthouse stands sure and straight over boulders tumbling into the sea. Two small, rocky islands dot the coast nearby.
This village principal attraction is the beautiful Atlantic beach, with very beautiful water and sand, a natural reserve of sea lions and one of the few mobile sand dunes, that is, that the sand is blown by the wind and moves around the sandy places so the dunes actually change their position. This is a unique phenomenon, but regrettably, during the military dictatorship in Uruguay it was decided to plant trees in a massive quantity, and this has produced severe damage because the wind is not allowed to blow freely and carry the sand, so it is thought that the dunes could disappear in the future.

The Beach

Punta del Este aerial viewPunta del Este has scenic coasts and beaches. There are two types of coast: Brava and Mansa. This shows the end of the Rio de la Plata (River Plate) on one side and the beginning of the Atlantic Ocean, on the other side. Every beach of the peninsula has public access. There are quiet and calm water beaches while others have strong waves, white and fine sand or thick and golden ones. The split between wave types is around the Monumento al Ahogado, which the sculptor designed to warn swimmers that the rough waves could cause them to drown.
La Barra is popular for nautical sports and fishing. Other areas include El Tesoro resort, Montoya beach, Bikini beach and Manantiales beach. Nowadays this area has become an important tourist center.

Great Wall of China photos and information

The Great Wall of China or she is a series of stone and earthen fortifications in northern China, built, rebuilt, and maintained between the 5th century BC and the 16th century to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire from Xiongnu attacks during various successive dynasties. Since the 5th century BC, several walls have been built that were referred to as the Great Wall. One of the most famous is the wall built between 220–206 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. Little of that wall remains; it lay farther north than the current wall, which was built during the Ming Dynasty.
The Great Wall stretches over approximately 6,400 km (4,000 miles)from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia, but stretches to over 6,700 km (4,160 miles) in total; a more recent archaeological survey using advanced technologies points out that the entire Great Wall, with all of its branches, stretches for 8,851.8 km (5,500.3 mi). At its peak, the Ming Wall was guarded by more than one million men. It has been estimated that somewhere in the range of 2 to 3 million Chinese died as part of the centuries-long project of building the wall.
